Visiting Riyadh al-Jannah
Riyadh al-Jannah, commonly referred to as the Rawdah, is one of the most blessed areas within Al-Masjid an-Nabawi ﷺ in Madinah.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“The area between my house and my pulpit is a garden from the gardens of Paradise.”
Sahih al-Bukhari 1196
This blessed Hadith has made praying Salah and engaging in worship within the Rawdah a cherished aspiration for pilgrims visiting Madinah. Due to the large number of visitors, access to the Rawdah is managed through a booking and permit system. Pilgrims wishing to enter must follow the procedures and requirements set by the authorities.

Where Is the Rawdah?
The Rawdah is the blessed area situated between the Prophet’s ﷺ house and his pulpit (Minbar) within Al-Masjid an-Nabawi.The area is located near the Prophet’s ﷺ burial chamber and is distinguished by its carpeting and surrounding architectural features.

The Prophet ﷺ described the area between his house and his pulpit as “a garden from the gardens of Paradise.”
Scholars have offered different explanations regarding the meaning and significance of this description. These include the understanding that this is a place where Allah’s mercy and blessings are especially sought, and that worship performed sincerely in this blessed area is a means of attaining Allah’s reward.

What is certain is that the Rawdah holds a unique status because of the statement of the Prophet ﷺ, making it a place where pilgrims are eager to pray, make Du’a and remember Allah.
How to Visit the Rawdah
1. Obtain a Permit Through Nusuk
A permit is required to enter the Rawdah. Pilgrims should use the Nusuk app to check available dates and times and secure their permit.
Availability can be limited, particularly during busy pilgrimage periods, so pilgrims should plan ahead.
2. Arrive at Gate 37
On the day of your visit, proceed to the designated gathering area near Gate 37 at the time indicated on your permit.
Look for the barriers and designated queues, and follow the instructions provided by Masjid staff.
3. Arrive Early
It is advisable to arrive 15–20 minutes before your allocated time.
Allow additional time for finding Gate 37, security procedures, queueing and moving through the designated areas.
