Serving South African pilgrims with integrity, guidance and purpose
The South African Hajj and Umrah Council (SAHUC) is a voluntary, non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting, representing, and safeguarding the interests of South African Muslims undertaking the sacred journeys of Hajj and Umrah.
Since its establishment, SAHUC has worked to create an environment in which every pilgrim has equitable access to Hajj and Umrah opportunities through transparent processes, informed guidance, and collaborative engagement with local and international stakeholders. Our commitment is rooted in the principles of fairness, accountability, service, and respect for every pilgrim.
Inspired by the teachings of the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, SAHUC strives to ensure that every aspect of its work reflects the values of unity, equality, compassion, and sincere service to the South African Muslim community.
Committed to every pilgrim.
Dedicated to every journey.
Our Purpose
As the representative body for South African pilgrims, SAHUC works to ensure that every individual undertaking the sacred journey receives accurate information, responsible guidance, and meaningful support throughout their pilgrimage.
Through collaboration with government authorities, industry stakeholders, and community organisations, we continue to strengthen the systems and processes that benefit pilgrims before, during, and after their journey.
Our Vision
To serve South African pilgrims with excellence by promoting accessible, transparent, and spiritually enriching Hajj and Umrah experiences that uphold the highest standards of integrity, accountability, and Islamic values.
Our Mission
SAHUC exists to support and protect the interests of South African pilgrims by providing trusted guidance, fostering collaboration with relevant authorities, promoting education, and advocating for fair and equitable access to Hajj and Umrah.
